Trudy patted the spotted horse's neck as they trotted along. Ruby had told the younger girl of a large piece of flat ground, with natural jumps on it. The idea had excited Trudy and she had tacked up Cracker and ridden him out here. Now was the problem of finding the place. Don't worry. She cooed to her british spotted pony We'll find it soon. Then you can have a proper good jump! She turned int he saddle and saw a large horse approaching. Hi! She called in her usual friendly manner.

Alexa woke up late and got ready from some cross country on Quincy. It was about noon when she woke up & made her way to the horse’s stall so she could give him a real good groom & tack him up, before working him in the arena, doing a bit of dressage to get him warmed up, & then take him to the cross country course. He had ridden like a charm, perfect movements; perfect jumping. Then Alexa had gotten sidetracked. Instead of finishing the cross country she had started, she had made her way for a nice relaxing trail ride.
She had just started off when she remembered she hadn’t had any lunch, and was going out that evening, so she did need to eat. She turned back, but on her canter back to the stables, she was spotted by a younger rider on a horse. The younger rider greeted her, and she felt obliged to stop and talk. “Hiya, I’m Alexa, what’s your name?” She replied to the girl, who was about fourteen or so, and hoping she didn’t sound like she was treating the girl like a child.

Trudy grinned like the child she was, she didn't mind being treated like one. I'm trudy. And this is Cracker. Are you going jumping in the clearing? I can't seem to find it. The young girl frowned and stratched her head, looking around for the umpteenth time, still not seeing the fences. Hmmmm. Hey! Do you want to go jumping together? She smiled happily.

Maybe it was just because she was a mother, and had maternal feelings, but Alexa hated saying no to children. She found it hard to do so, because of their toothy grins and innocent faces and small, skinny bodies and childish attitudes. She bit her lip. This girl wasn’t a child anymore, she was a teenager, but still, same basic principal. “Err, ok then…” And with that she turned her horse toward the same direction as the other girl’s. “Can’t you find where you were going?” She asked. There were quite a few clearing about, and she hadn’t noticed any fences in any…

Trudy felt so happy inside, a "big" girl actually seemed to like her. Umm no I can't. Ruby, the girl who owns this place, said it was a large piece of flat ground with natural jumps on it, like logs and... The little girl thought hard for a moment and stuff. She thought again for a moment. Maybe if we just carry on riding, we'll find it. She shrugged her shoulders and nudged Cracker forwards into a trot. Come on slowpoke! she turned in the saddle, her laugh lighting up her whole face.
