Ruby rode Rosy out through the gap onto the track and began to jog her to the mile post. She would breeze her a mile today then full gallop her half a mile. The bay mare shook her head impatiently but Ruby held her back. At the mile post, Rby bent over the horses withers, slid her hands forward and whispered to the mare Go! But the mare had gone as they hit the pole. She galloped round the track, eating up the turf, pulling to go faster. Ruby held her back, only wanting to lightly exercise her before the race in 2 days. As they flashed past the mile pole again, Ruby dug her heels in and screamed Go baby go! the mare sped up to a blistering pace, sending chunks of earth flying up behind her. Ruby grinned as they passed the half mile pole. She stood in her stirrups and began drawing the filly back to a canter. She was confident about their chances. the horse's pace was amazing, especially for such a young horse. She trotted the horse the half mile then began to return to the gap at a walk. The filly shook her head under the rider's praise.[/sub]

As Leisha sat deep into the saddle on the big bays back, she gave him his head and he lifted high feet higher and jogged on the spot. As she got halfway round the circuit, Leisha thought he had warmed up enough and gave him his head, to which he threw forward and went from trot to canter to full out gallop. Going round the track with her body just standing out of the saddle, her legs up high and her crop in the hand by the rail. As she went by she felt her hair blow in the wind and the power, such power beneath her flying. Urging him on her speed up, he was not a thoroughbred but he had the paces for one. He would never be able to win a race as he was not the right breed, but he had the heart to make one happen.
As she left the inside track and gently pulled back he slowed. Up in he distance was another figure, a dot to be precise but it was obviously a horse as it was too big to be anything else. Picking up the trot she went and came close, to see a stunning bay mare, ridden by a knowledge able girl. The mare was stunning and her baby boy thought so too, giving a low whinny to the horse in front..

At the whinny, Rosy's head shot up and she twirled round, cantering towards it. Ruby sat deeply and held the mare in, cantering past the other horse, whom she recognised as Joe. She nodded to Leisha, but did not stop, turning Rosy in small circles instead, until she calmed down. Then she rode over. Hiya. Sorry she's excited. Thinks you want to race.
